Worship leader for Emmanuel Community Church in Jersey Shore; my
husband is the pastor. I am also a recently retired home-educator,
and now that our son and daughter are both in college, I have a Suzuki cello program for children, having completed
teacher training courses at the Central Pennsylvania Suzuki Institute.
favorite music
My life pretty much revolves around worship music, but I enjoy
a wide variety of music styles. I'm partial to chamber music,
but it would be hard to select a single favorite composer.
favorite stories
When my children were ages four and seven, I took them to
a small nursing home in our neighborhood in order to "adopt"
a great-grandparent. We asked the activities director to introduce
us to someone who had no family of his own, and that's how
Willie Good became part of our family. Willie was a perfect
match; he used to be a clown, he loved children, music especially
violin music and animals. Eventually we started presenting
programs for all the residents. We played our instruments
and sang, performed skits and read poetry. Those years were
wonderful for all of us. The residents were a most appreciative
audience, and it was a fantastic learning experience on many
levels. Music is wonderful to share and transcends age and
culture.
