The wildly popular Pops in the Park summer concert series is held in the historic Brandon Park Bandshell in Williamsport’s lovely Brandon Park. PITP features the WSO, the Billtown Brass, “swing jazz” by the Bobby McCreary Big Band, and Jazzin’ (who broke attendance records for Brandon Park concerts). In 2007 we added soul singer Warren Shand, performing pop/standards, and a set with the Johnny Jolin Band, one of the first country-rock groups in history to tour China.
Pops in the Park attracts a wide cross-section of people from around the region. It has been a “PR boost” to the city, and community support continues to grow.
