The purpose of the Young Artists’ Competition is to recognize talented young musicians and offer them the opportunity to perform with the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra. Young musicians meeting the eligibility requirements for this competition compete for cash awards, and the winner and runners-up are given solo performance opportunities in the Community Arts Center.
The Williamsport Symphony Orchestra is committed to providing quality performance and educational opportunities for talented young musicians in north central Pennsylvania, and this competition is highly regarded by regional teachers and students. Many of its former winners have forged remarkable careers in music performance.
